I spent a few hours recoloring and redesigning how I wanted my DJ to look and finished the coloring for the borders.
Updated Chart
So, in the process I realized there was just too much orange for my liking and remove and added some pink and light purple shading into my chart. That being done, I had to redo my first block Doris’s Dilemma, K-12, but I didn’t stop there. I ended up doing (including the one from this morning) 7 blocks and 2 triangles. All paper pieced. YES, there are some challenging ones with paper piecing – ie. triangle BR4. And I also realized that working on such a small scale of a block your unmatched seams show more – ugh. Oh well, I’m content with these blocks and wanted to share them.

Block: K-12, Doris’s Dilemma -take two
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 11
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Light Purple (my own grouping)
Notes: Again, second time for this block due to the changing of my color chart. I wasn’t paying attention to the directional pattern of the print either – ugh, but at this point I won’t remake this block.

Block: M-10, Simple Simon
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 9
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Light Purple (my own grouping)
Notes: Yes, I paper pieced this one, mainly because it’s more accurate than just piecing it.

Block: L-7, Town Square
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 17
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Red (my own grouping)
Notes: Another simple paper piecing block.

Block: L-3, Reflections Abound
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 25
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Light Purple (my own grouping)
Notes: The purple flower is better up close. This was a 5 piece paper-piece pattern, challenging but easy.

Block: J-4, Adelaine’s Apron Strings
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 7
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Pink (my own grouping)
Notes: Quick and easy.

Block: C-1, Trooper Green’s Badge
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 13
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Light Green (my own grouping)
Notes: Another directional print I wasn’t paying attention, but it looks ok.

Block: BR4, Candy Dish
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 24
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Dark Blue (my own grouping)
Notes: OMG, that basically states my feelings on this, though I can NOT imagine machine piecing this one. The paper-piecing was a very tough challenge and I’m VERY happy with the results. I actually changed the top tip into one piece verses 2 as the original pattern shows.

Block: BR1, Rosemary’s Rainbow
Date Completed: 5/23/07
Number of Pieces: 12
Description: Paper Pieced
Color Group: Black (my own grouping)
Notes: Very easy and I bet the easiest triangle to do, especially with paper-piecing.
Number of Blocks Completed: 7
Number of Triangles Completed: 2
Number of Pieces So Far: 139
I’m having fun with my DJ software as well, as I’m filling up “My Chart” with completed photos. Hope to put up on the web soon.
